Why I go to work every day?

I have the honor of coming to work each day to serve our trailblazing Silver Birch Living Teams who, in turn, touch the lives of those we are most privileged to be a part of.  It is easy to show up when you possess a heartfelt passion for an industry; bigger than this is having the incredible opportunity to align alongside a team who inspires others every day through integrity and an unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of others… and, in turn, our world. 

 

How did I get here?

My journey into healthcare started at the age of 14 when I had the opportunity to volunteer as a ‘candy-striper’ at a local hospital.  While I always knew that healthcare was in my future, it wasn’t until I gained this experience that I had full recognition of my goal to become a nurse.  Nurses, alongside many other professionals in healthcare, possess the extraordinary responsibility of compassionately and holistically serving others while ensuring the delivery of the highest quality care and experiences.  It is because of one of my cherished mentors that I was introduced to the world of senior living early on in my career – and I have never looked back.   

 

Why I care about this industry?

The ability to impact the lives of those who have shaped humanity throughout their lifetime is an absolute gift that I will treasure for the rest of my life.   Our precious space in the field of senior living is critical to ensuring that all older adults have access to dignified and affordable living alongside person-directed care and experiences.
